For fucks sake. French politicians need to grow a pair and stop caving to the demands of the most coddled group in society. A deal that could enrich millions but these rent-seeking layabouts don’t want it and so here we are.

For someone that proclaimes himself as a visionair of an united Europe, Macron puts all too often his domestic political interests first. Still, the threshold for getting the FTA through is there if Italy indeed votes in favour.
There are enough votes to get this deal through without France’s vote. Most of the deal can enter into force even without full ratification like with the EU’s trade deal with Canada which France also hasn’t ratified.
