Woman here, this is about self loathing and societal pressure from others and social media to look a very specific way. When everyone around you or in your circle is “getting work done” you start wondering if you need it to and before you know it you look like the joker. I am an older woman who isn’t traditionally pretty or good looking and I faced this kind of pressure and feeling like an outlier when I was young. I’m so glad I didn’t do anything to my face or body now. I would imagine being high profile and in the public eye makes it even worse.
Example… look at Pamela Anderson and how a lot of people are going on and on about how ugly she is because she doesn’t wear makeup anymore and isn’t doing procedures now. If she was doing procedures people would say she looked plastic and like a barbie. She’s choosing not to but now they’re saying she looks like an old lady. Women really can’t win. It takes a lot of courage to stay true to yourself these days.
