Hundreds of Minnesotan businesses are participating in a general strike, a first in decades, protesting ICE’s strong and militarized presence in Minneapolis and their continued clashing with residents. Although some companies and larger corporations are not participating, it still nonetheless might be the largest worker action in the state’s history. This is despite the National Weather Service giving a cold weather warning, saying that temperatures in Minneapolis might drop to as low as -20 F.

JD Vance claims that Trump wants to “turn down the temperature” following weeks of clashing between ICE Agents and Minneapolis residents. Yet he has called the protestors “far-left agitators,” and blamed the escalating situation on the lack of cooperation from state and local officials.
