    >Push back too hard and it could lose the patronage of the Trump administration, which has pledged to help what it calls patriotic forces achieve power in Europe.
    >
    >Act too supinely and it could alienate voters who, polls show, are growing increasingly incensed at the friendly fire pouring out from Washington, said Peter Matuschek, director of Germany’s Forsa polling group.
    >
    >“I would think that at the moment, it would help any party if they took a clear stand against Trump,” Matuschek said. “And possibly even the right-wing parties.”

    >A Forsa poll conducted after the Greenland dispute broke out and published on Tuesday showed 71% of German voters now considered the U.S. an adversary instead of a partner. For the first time, a majority of supporters of AfD agreed.

    Here are the numbers:

One example, how this issue is splitting the AfD:

    >The head of the new AfD youth organisation, Jean-Pascal Hohm, and Maximilian Krah engaged in a heated exchange on Platform X. ‘Anyone who thinks that Greenland should be left to the Americans out of fear of a tariff war or because of sympathy for other decisions made by the Trump administration is not a German or European patriot, but merely views our homeland as an appendage or plaything of the major powers,’ wrote Hohm. Krah replied: “It is in our interest not to get into a conflict with the US. What has Greenland brought us so far? And as the AfD, we should avoid a row with Trump at all costs; after all, he protects us from being banned.‘ Krah recently argued that Germany, as ’America’s best friend,” should shape a new post-EU Europe.

  2. Reality is a 4d manifold not of space or time but a spacetime. But the human brain structures reality as 3d with past present and future. In addition the human brain is capable of projecting reality through the 3d+time frame to anticipate future possibilities. But also the human brain as it is, creates meaning to filter down the amount of worthwhile projections to consider and this is to reduce the cognitive load in desicion making. That is to say you only consider the projections of meaningful futures, but in addition the human can impose retroactively meaning on the past to cohere with meaning that aids it in future desicion making and thus temporal coherence is an illusion.

To clarify the point is the human mind can impose meaning retroactively on the past and then carry this meaning forward to project (only the relevant meaningful) futures to aid it in decision making

And given our social media age of bombarding humans with narratives,I believe fundamentally a subset of humans will believe whatever their leaders tell them and easily rewrite the past in their mind to cohere with the new narrative, thus the european populists will just shout that they were always anti Trump and the rubes will fall for it
