The author of this article spoke to the people on the ground in Minneapolis, and what he found shows some interesting developments. The resistance displays a high level of organisation, despite having no real leadership. As someone who has been a bit bearish on horizontalism in the past, this has prompted me to rethink things a little.

The fascists thought that they could break Minneapolis. They thought they could attack a diverse city and that the white population would just let them. They don’t understand that when we say all men are brothers, it’s not just signalling; we mean it. They think this state terrorism is what’s needed to build a high-trust society. Well, they’re getting a taste of one right now, and it is a tapestry of different races and cultures, just like America.

But they are right on one thing: a high-trust society cannot suffer the presence of criminal thugs who invade communities, form gangs, kidnap children, rape women and murder people on the streets. And that is exactly why ICE and CBP must be driven from the city and from civilisation.
