      It really shows the difference in the health of our institutions that the U.S. just randomly added 10% or 15% or whatever tariffs on our ally South Korea while the EU has announced a free trade agreement covering *two billion people*

      A lot of people here are hoping that the ‘event’ would happen. But if it does happen JD Vance will become president and his actions so far the past few weeks have demonstrated that he is a true believer in white nationalism and white supremacy. Minorities will then have to suffer through far more thuggish behaviour from ICE, and it’s reasonable to not want that

      A lot of people here are thinking “It can’t possibly get worse than this”, but you guys lack imagination. It absolutely can.

      Asking again but does anyone know a paper that looks at labour market outcomes caused by migration of Jews from the USA to Israel? It’s probably the most notable and largest scale example of people migrating from a wealthier country to a poorer one

      If we didn’t pay old people a bajillion dollars we really could just solve most issues by throwing money at them. Things like subsidizing teacher salaries or paying immigration lawyers and judges a bunch of money is incredibly cheap by the scale of the federal government. We could even do random shit like free standardized testing.

      Every time I go on /r/all I come across some AITAH type post where it’s a long story that centers on toxic behavior between men and women. It starts to get me riled up just reading the comments then I realize, that’s the intent. This is why those posts make it to the top. Engagement. Then I can let go and move on.
