Which is true and they know it……..they don’t have the money to build up their militaries to pre-WWI/II levels. Not without giving up their socialist programs and facing interruptions to their mandated holidays for conscripted military service, due to the shift in national budgets to make up the gap of lost US funding and help.
That’s a VERY BIG gap to fill.

Articles and conversations on this topic always focus on euros and miss an even more important ingredient to the military: Fighters. Europeans have been so coddled for multiple generations, they won’t be able to field an effective military force due to lack of people willing and able to actually fight.
