Center-right minority cabinet isn’t the worst outcome, I suppose. Would’ve been better with GL-PvdA but Yesilgoz has gone too far right to let something sensible like that happen.

Are they still going for a minority cabinet?

Submission statement: [D66](https://liberal-international.org/members/d66_netherlands/) is a social-liberal party that won 26 seats at the elections in October and is now set to deliver its first Prime Minister in the party’s history. It is also the first time that the Netherlands will have a minority government, excluding caretaker governments and the first Rutte government (which had a confidence and supply agreement with the PVV). It comes right after a staunchly right-wing populist government that lasted slightly ~~over~~ under a year before collapsing.
The position this new government might take on EU relations, its relationship with the US and how it plans to keepits coalition partners on board during its tenure is worthy of discussion. The last few government coalitions have been very unstable. The last cabinet to sit out its entire term was Rutte II in 2017.

How stable are pundits thinking this is going to be as a minority government?
I’m sure that they could use GL-PvdA or even groups like JA21 to pass most legislation since there’s still a relatively big moderate majority. Lean into the left for more “left” legislation, and vice versa for the right? Is that even gonna work?

Crazy how these VVD snakes keep entering coalitions despite drifting to the Right and being smug assholes even among the right
