Submission Statement: Wealth taxes, with their possible positives and neagtives are a much-debated tool to make those with means pay their “fair share” of taxes. California, and its Governor Newsom are key players in the Neoliberal universe.

Well it doesn’t appear the wealthy are fleeing New York like predicted, so I kinda doubt it’ll happen in California.
They’re welcome to join me in the midwest though, see we got both kinds of music, country and western.

We need federal level regulations to prevent corporations from pitting states against one another in order to avoid a race to the bottom in terms of regulation and being part of society. Same goes for foreign policy. We should have free trade with nations that act as major facilitators of tax and human rights evasion. We should be building partnerships with countries that are willing to work together to prevent that.
