SS: CSIS estimates that about 1.2m Russians and 600,000 Ukrainians have been killed, wounded or have gone missing in the war in Ukraine. While the death toll of the war has been kept secret by both sides, CSIS gathered its figures by interviewing Ukrainian officials and cooperating with BBC Russian Service and Mediazona.

The war is likely to continue as peace talks in the UAE appear to be in a deadlock as the Kremlin continues to push for its maximalist claims on Ukrainian territory.
