  1. Archived free link below in case anyone is interested. It’s a great read. Looks like we are going to see some democratic backsliding in Costa Rica. The country has strong institutions and were able to resist a lot of the authoritarian power consolidation moves that President Chavez tried engaging in. But now, President-Elect Fernandez (Chaves’ handpicked successor) will have a Legislative majority to back up her attempts. She’s openly called to suspend constitutional rights in “high crime neighborhoods” and wants to do a judicial purge.

  2. So crimes rises under a conservative government and the people decides to vote for the successor of a corrupt president, i wonder how long this conservative wave will last in LATAM
