She really doesn’t need to stand there and pretend she has to speak on behalf of „the poor girls” now. Her pain, her marriage, her divorce – yes, that may have been personally difficult for her. But that is not the core of the issue.

Gates was always a powerful woman. She had money, influence, and connections. She could have done something. Instead, she chose damage control – nothing more, nothing less. She left the sinking ship once it became clear what was coming.

She is not a victim. At the very latest, at a certain point, she had knowledge of what her husband had done – or at least of who he associated with and what was being alleged. She stayed silent. She did not go public. She did not act – except in her own self-interest.

The girls clearly did not matter to her.

Silence in a position like hers is not neutrality. It is a choice. And it is unforgivable.

    This hypocrisy makes me sick.
