  1. Submission statement: The fact that the Scottish Labour leader both feels comfortable, and deems it necessary in light of Scottish parliament elections in May, to call for the resignation of Starmer, shows how weak of a position Starmer is in. Having said that, [all members of Starmer’s cabinet have voiced their support for him](https://www.theguardian.com/politics/live/2026/feb/09/starmer-mandelson-epstein-labour-mcsweeney-conservatives-latest-news-updates?CMP=share_btn_url&page=with%3Ablock-6989fd608f084ca374ce3baf#block-6989fd608f084ca374ce3baf) after Sarwar called on him to resign.

My opinion: I am not sure how smart Sarwar’s move is, but this certainly feeds the constant chatter of a potential resignation by Starmer.

The idea that Starmer might have to resign over making an ill thought out appointment because of the appointees relationship with Epstein is crazy when Trump will just carry on being President despite having a deeply personal bond with Epstein is crazy, and who knows what more Trump possibly did that is being hidden.
