Submission Statement: a piece succinctly dispelling much of the fear mongering around gentrification. While I already understood that there were benefits from mixed income neighborhoods, the magnitude of the benefits is surprising. This data should inform housing policy.

I often suspect that the left wing defenders of these miserable public housing projects grew up in affluent suburban areas and have no idea how bad these places where too live, and this occurs right across the western world.

It often seems like a love affair with the idea that large scale housing must be delivered with the idea that no developers can possibly ever be allowed to make a cent of profit on building housing.
