A year in, it’s official: Americans, not foreigners, are paying for Trump’s tariffs

    Here’s a weird thought I had.

Tariffs are probably the only tax that’s palatable to the US public. If you raise income taxes you’re basically not going to get reelected. But it’s not sustainable because they keep lowering taxes and increasing spending. It’s kind of a game of chicken to see which admin is the one that has to fold and increase the taxes.

Too bad tariffs are a regressive tax though

Just wait for when SCOTUS bucks all layperson interpretations of a tax and says these tariffs are legal. Prices will shoot up. Inflation has only been chill because there’s a good likelihood of recouping costs of tariffs.

The longer SCOTUS delays this decision, the less likely they are to rule against Trump.

  4. It was official the moment it started, CNN. That’s how tariffs work. Stop trying to act like this was a question.
