It explains how Orbán, who gained a supermajority in the 2010 elections, squandered every oppurtunity to turn Hungary into a prospering liberal democracy, and not because he was incompetent, but because he never tried it in the first place. It’s scathing to think that the Socialist Party was actually pretty neo-liberal not just compared to Orbán, but in general as well. They even created a thriving market for private pensions! Which Orbán nationalised in 2011 and stole all the funds, numbering billions of dollars.
