Even Trump’s traditional bread and butter, the “landed gentry” (wealthy but not educated) seem to be getting spooked. Trump increasingly is the leader of a movement of useless fuckups who don’t have their shit together and are resentful towards everyone who does, rather than self-interested rich people as used to be the case.

The electorate has been changing every single election for the past 2 decades. The GOP is losing vote-rich high-propensity suburbs around the nation, but have managed to survive as a party thanks to a Dem wipe out in the rurals and inroads into minority groups.
Even in 2024 where the ENTIRE nation moved to the right, critical suburbs like those of Atlanta kept shifting more to the left.
This is good for neolibs because the party base being better educated could help stop populists from taking over the party.
maybe requiring a passport, a ski lift, and an arcteryx or patagonia fit to be allowed to vote is based.

This actually shows the opposite – poorer and less educated voters are leaning increasingly GOP.

Given that there are far more low education voters than high education voters in this country, political polarization based on education level is a losing battle for Dems. Yes, high ed people turn out in higher rates, but that won’t cut it if the trend continues

Notice how the higher education coalition has lost every election except 2020
