I’m trying to remember what the terms of the SDF integration were, there was a time where ministerial positions were offered to the group, but that may have been dropped as negotiations stalled and the process dragged on.
I think Al-Sharaa nominated a Kurdish member to his transitional cabinet, and I wonder how this (hypothetical) new cabinet will compare to the current one.
Also surprised that Al-Sharaa would make this move while Suwayda remains unresolved, though perhaps this is an opportunity to demonstrate good faith to the Druze, especially after the violence there last year
As always with Syria, things are in flux
