According to Bloomberg, US lawmakers are urging Nigeria to repeal Sharia and anti-blasphemy laws amid an investigation into alleged persecution of Christians. The push is led by Representative Riley Moore and Appropriations Committee Chairman Tom Cole, who recommended a US–Nigeria security pact and potential funding cuts. They also called for sanctions and visa restrictions against individuals accused of supporting anti-Christian violence. The US designated Nigeria a “country of particular concern” in October and has conducted airstrikes in Sokoto state, while deploying around 100 troops and supplying military equipment.

Pretty sure it’s mostly family matters that are governed by shariah in Nigeria anyway.
I am all for not having shariah, but I can’t see how this does anything but alienate Muslim Nigerians
