Article on the rise of Chinese Universities in academia. Again going to say that this is broadly a good thing as research is not necessarily something that is a battle between nations but something that we all have to work together on. The work of one mathematician in one corner of the world is built on by another from its very opposite and whatnot.
Anecdotally, I’ve got a mate who went to Tsinghua after his PhD and when I spoke to him after he said it’s pretty good for his research but he was also a bit of a nationalist when I knew him so idk how much to take his word on it.
