Three US service members were killed and five were “seriously wounded” during operations against Iran, US Central Command said on Sunday.
“Several others sustained minor shrapnel injuries and concussions — and are in the process of being returned to duty,” Central Command said in a social media post. “Major combat operations continue and our response effort is ongoing.”
The deaths come on the second day of a US-Israeli operation against Iran, with a bombing campaign that killed the supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and other top leaders. The command declined to provide further details, including the identities of the service members, citing the need to notify next-of-kin.
While US President Donald Trump has said bombing of Iran will continue through the week, Iranian officials have signaled that their retaliatory campaign is set to escalate.
Iran already has lobbed a wave of missile and drone attacks aimed at US bases and allies around the region, including in the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Kuwait and Saudi Arabia. Even Oman, which was previously mostly unscathed, came under fire on Sunday.

The Peace President everybody
It’s time for all Americans to come together and honor their sacrifice by not asking any more questions about Epstein.
This could have easily been prevented if Laos had joined the Board of Peace along with Albania and Uzbekistan.
I’m curious as to whether all these are casualties at bases hit by iranian missiles, or any aircrew.
“Some of you may die, but it’s a sacrifice I am willing to make!”
I hope this is a moment of pause for people comparing this to Maduro. We’re going to spend human lives in order to achieve Trump’s goals here, and the scariest part is those goals are completely unclear.
Mom said I get to post it again
