
I have a lot of NIMBYs in my town that show up at town council meetings and talk publicly about how “new development will drive up personal property taxes”.
What can I say to counter this? Especially when articles like this are thrown around as evidence:

Infrastructure cost-sharing mechanisms are a thing.
Many places use impact fees, development fees, and negotiated exactions to shift some growth costs to developers and future residents instead of existing homeowners. These are widely used tools precisely to avoid subsidizing growth with general taxes. These are not new complaints.
