  1. Submission statement: At 11:03 p.m. ET, March 1, three U.S. F-15E Strike Eagles flying in support of Operation Epic Fury went down over Kuwait due to an apparent friendly fire incident.

    Kuwait is now the site of at least 5 friendly fire incidents, including two during Iraqi Freedom, when US Army Patriot batteries shot down Navy and British aircraft.

    If you are curious, before this last F-15 that was shot down was shot down in 22 November 1995.

    > F-15J, 52-8846, of the 303rd Tactical Fighter Squadron, Komatsu AFB, JASDF, during air-intercept training over the Sea of Japan, flown by Lt. Tatsumi Higuchi was shot down by an AIM-9L Sidewinder missile accidentally fired by his wingman. The pilot ejected safely.
