  1. 1. Summary

Korea’s stock market saw 18% crash in two days. This came after a shock from Trump’s war on Iran. This panic sell is triggered by the fact Korea is reliant 70% on ME oil and extreme bull market for last few month.

    2. How is related to the sub

    (1) Geopolitical risk to investment: Trump’s madness is crashing market in unexpected places.

This is more a function of their index going parabolic the past year. Even with this drop they’re still up over 18% YTD, a correction was inevitable. The S&P by comparison has been bouncing around the same level since October, not saying it isn’t possible we see a correction ourselves but I wouldn’t read too deep into the KOSPI.

KOSPI more than doubled since a year ago?

Every bull market has violent corrections.

It could happen here in one day. In 2010 it dropped 9% in 30 minutes. This was just caused by high frequency trading, imagine what an attack on American soil would do.
