I think the comments made here by Trump officials reveal their stance on what they think trade is, namely a way for countries to strengthen themselves against the US. India will likely still grow in exports to the US as long as US china relations are bad trade wise but don’t expect to see the same level of growth china saw in the 2000s

Both India and usa are only on same terms regarding the Chinese and other than that both aren’t on similar terms
