This is a bigger issue than people think. Only about 2% of people scammed report it and extrapolated from that number it could be as much as $150B a year that Americans are getting scammed out of. This is not a rich person losing money on some stocks, this is retirees losing everything.
Honestly it makes me mad enough that I would entertain the idea of bounties being put on these people who do this – dead or alive.
