As a european, im ready to bet some bucks of a tacking of the kharg island by marines. Its doable military wise. Not impossible should i say. Would cut iran, china etc from more oil. Would give the us an advenced position. Would do a fortified position that could maybe reopen partially shipping lanes. If trump is noncredible, i would go for kharg island operation. It would fuck the ayatollah without many losses.

Wow, are we stupid. Recalled our minesweepers to Philadelphia in the lead-up to this attack and targeted civilian infrastructure while leaving their oil lifeline unscathed.
People in West Point will study this conflict in a “what not to do” class.

I’d bet Iran would shut off/blowup infrastructure connected to it and shift their oil exports to other ports that, while less optimal, would also not be in American hands
