If MAGA could read, they’d know that “America First” was the pro Nazi movement back in the 1930s and threatened to do exactly this- cut off allies in favor of isolationism- in the 40s.
It was the whole reason Eisenhower decided to run as a Republican- to prevent the isolationist Robert Taft from getting the GOP nomination.
American media is cooked beyond repair and genuinely needs to apologize to Americans and the entire world for abdicating its role and responsibility in favor of mainstreaming and showcasing a far right nutcase like Trump for ratings, especially back in 2016. And to this day, people on NBC love acting like its all normal and “both sides” and how “if Dems were more aggressive aren’t you concerned about race to the bottom?”
Trump should have been treated like David Duke or Pat Buchanan ffs.
