The wars in Ukraine and Iran both need serious commitment and ideally everyone should be in both. I don’t know if the tactics are right, but I do know that Trump is right that action is needed against Iran. Having said that, even though Ukraine was really an American ally (they never fought for Europe, only for America after 9/11) it makes sense for Europe to concentrate on Ukraine whilst America concentrates on Iran.
There’s a really big problem, though with getting commitment. When people are told that America will remember, they look at the history of Afghanistan and Iraq. They remember that some European countries even took over whole sectors and lead the fight. Then they see accusations that
Would America really remember? Nobody seems to remember that Ukrainians fought and died for America. Nobody seems to remember that 18 Ukrainians returned from America’s war in Afghanistan in coffins.
I suspect that many of the people pretending to be Americans attacking Europe are really Russian propagandists. They want to divide us. Still, it doesn’t look good when nobody remembers those Europeans that died for America.
