According to preliminary results, the CDU improved its performance compared to the last election in 2021, reaching 31 percent (2021: 27.7 percent). The SPD (socialists) plummeted to 25.9 percent (2021: 35.7 percent); a historic low for the traditional party in state elections in Rhineland-Palatinate. The AfD more than doubled its share of the vote compared to the last election in 2021, reaching 19.5 percent (2021: 8.3 percent)
