All i can say after watching the Netflix series is he certainly did not want to spend a night in prison. He didn’t get his way as usual with his parole conditions and got sent to that NY remand centre, so tptb set up his fake death and got him out of there. Just my take on things, but I’m convinced he’s alive after watching that
