Meh, the moon sucks. We didn’t send humans there for decades because it’s a worthless ball of dust that contains little of economic or scientific value that required a human hand.
Even now most of the stuff in the works is mostly as a test bed for eventually putting a man on Mars.
Mars sucks too, but that’s a different discussion.
