The oldest and most respected pollster in Hungary, Medián, released a poll today which had shown a 23 percentage-point lead for Tisza over Orbán’s Fidesz, 58-35. The poll also claimed that the far-right “Our Homeland Movement”, commonly seen as Orbán’s useful idiots, wouldn’t make it into the parliament. The 23 pp lead for Tisza is massive, it isn’t just a guaranteed supermajority, which Magyar and his party will need to fully purge the Fidesz deep state that is entrenched in our economy, bureaucracy and public life, but also a crushing enough loss that it would likely lead to the collapse of Fidesz itself.
