  1. Submission statement: Cuban hospitals are struggling because of the soft-blockade for oil. Doctors are forced to triage care, deciding between dialysis, chemotherapy, or ventilators for newborns.

No matter your opinion on the repressive, neofeudal communist regime, or their quasi slavery system for doctors, or their repressive policies I think we all can agree that patients and hospitals shouldn’t suffer.

One notable statistic from the article on the effect of sanctions:

    > In 2018, the infant mortality rate in Cuba was four per 1,000 births, lower than in the United States. By 2025, that rate had more than doubled, to 10 deaths, almost twice as high as the U.S. figure

A worthy sacrifice to make for a cosmetic change to the Cuban regime and a “we did it” press conference for Trump.

News coming out of an authortarian state that toes the party line is not very trustworthy

  4. Starving kids and having NICU babies die because of a lack of power.

    America is a fascist country

The blockade shouldve been discarded 20 years ago. So what if its a political bargaining chip? People are hungry and this extortion is our part in it.

It’s an immoral part to play. Maybe if we stopped being immoral for reasons of “grand strategy” we wouldnt have so many bleeding ulcers to deal with in the first place.
