The whistleblowers alleged that Advanced Urology and Dr. Patel’s conduct resulted in the submission of false claims to federal healthcare programs, including Medicare and Medicaid, in violation of the False Claims Act, 31 U.S.C. §§ 3729, et seq., and the Georgia False Medicaid Claims Act, O.C.G.A. §§ 49-4-168.1, et seq.
Patel should spend time in jail, why isn’t this the case?

The problem is that government is paying for healthcare and low-ball on payments, while also taking money from us to fund these payments.
If the patient were the customer they could refuse unnecessary testing, and harmful or unnecessary billing would be prosecuted like any other act of commerce.
