Submission Statement: US forces returning to the Persian Gulf shows that for now the ceasefire between Iran and the US is holding and that efforts are underway to reopen the strait to commerical traffic.

It is notable that only two destroyers entered the Strait, and no LCS vessels were present. This signifies either a preliminary deployment to ensure that the strait is safe from drone and missile attack or that there are not many mines present to require the need for heavier minesweeping gear.

  2. This is a pretty bold move in the face of negotiations. If the Oman corridor can be classified as cleared then more shipping may use it.
