    15 years ago I would have been super excited about this. With the advent of everything being on the cloud and requiring a subscription, I’m gonna pass.

    Closed system cybernetic upgrades to make me function better and accessible only by me or my body mechanic would be awesome, letting some government agency or company have any ability to shut that down or interfere with its function at all is a hard, hard no.

    Can see this happening. My elderly but very active aunt has an earpiece that connects to wifi/bluetooth and alerts her to activity on her doorstep even when she’s in the middle of the ocean on a cruise ship. We call her the Bionic Woman.
