When haters narrate, they narrate a world where we didn’t gut their leadership on day 1 or proceed to launch five figures of missiles and air sorties in the weeks that followed.
When they say “what if” they’re painting a picture where our aims depend on nobody believing in twelverism anymore (We took sides with Azerbaijan, where swaths of people are twelvers and also where the cushy hat men came to Zoroastrian Iran from.) –instead of simply flattening the regimes ability to flatten the steady flow of uprisings.
Protests were violently crushed one US president after another and then this is the first time we really do anything about it. We didn’t do anything until well after hostages were taken including both Americans and Europeans, Iranian missiles were launched *in followup to the hostage taking attacks,* and then they confirmed their aims to create nuclear weapons with belligerent intentions.
We can’t expect ourselves to please anyone who considers the enemy’s side of the actions the middle ground, and then considers our response unreasonable.
