Imo, the media gave the Iranian hardliners the impression they could win this.
Look at how the media reported on this war. They claimed Iran had won from the first week. They did everything in their power to paint a false picture of a regime that was stronger than ever even after having their military and navy mostly wiped out.
We are living in a time when the media actively trying to help the enemy and detail what the US is trying to do. Lord Hawhaw from ww2 is now the mainstream media.

I would love his predictions to come true. But the reality is that predictions rarely hit 100%. The other reality is that working class Americans without unlimited funds are getting clocked by these price increases.
