I basically don’t care if downstate places would rather not re-zone. Almost all of them are capable of greenfield development without significantly impacting their communities. And even though I’d rather the suburbs allow more housing, it’s likewise less important.
What’s really needed is for the city of Chicago to allow more housing. We have the capability do it nearly unilaterally, the state is only getting involved because our aldermen are such a bunch of fuckups on this subject.
