Since they're a second world country they can go even further in censorship since they wont be playing the free world bit Europe and North America are. Same goes for Iran (who just like Russia is the fake opposition to NATO) is fake opposition to Israel. And ironically if you really want to resist the west and you're in Russia resist Putin(not with the help of the west ofc that would do nothing lol).
Edit: Also they had the vaccine and went along with the plandemic and their central bank is connected to the Rothchild banking dynasty.

Wait a minute… You mean the guy who was the head of the KGB and held numerous positions to remain in power and has launched multiple invasions of neighboring countries while cracking down on free speech and conspiring with the oligarch class to personally enrich himself might not be the good guy?
