eh, i think there’s a real threat to it and people talking about its drawbacks aren’t stopping it from progressing clearly. we’ve haven’t done any sanctioning or stopped research and i don’t think we will until it’s too late

If TPTB didn’t want AI to be a thing, it wouldn’t be. The “fear campaign” is literally just merited ground level fears and some of that happens to be reflected in media. Or do you seriously think the promises of a UBI are not lies to placate us while AI is pushed out to replace white collar labor? When AI is used as a replacement it no longer can be seen as a tool either.
