Lying at the point of the arrest to make the political captivity look clean and make the victim look dirty. Quietly amending things once the scene has run its course so that the damaging lies aren’t held against them.
What caused this? The local government caused this, just like inverted justice in America’s blue cities. The local government in the area is compromised and will continue producing infinite favors for one side at the expense of the other until voters get their heads out of their intestines and elect leaders all over their country who will fight for them *not against them.*
