Messi and Ronaldo are the two biggest names in Football / Soccer history and it’s not relatively close. But the thing is I genuinely believe these two are the best because they’ve rightfully achieved their status by actually putting in the work.

I think both things are true, they are the best based on football nothing else, but that is probably accompanied with somewhat selling out as in endorsements, narratives, sponsors, business deals that go against their morals and is only for ulterior motive.
