Submission statement: India’s Chief Justice recently called unemployed youth “Cockroaches”, which led to a lot of backlash, including a new political party with 25k members which has 5 demands, including some serious ones like 50% quota for women in parliament, banning justices from political appointments after retirement (this is targeted at Justice Gogoi, who is responsible for the Ram Mandir judgement), and banning defections; and some unserious ones like trying CEC for terrorism if people’s voting rights are violated and blocking Adani and Ambani from owning media houses.

    PS: I know this is by Al-Jazeera, but it is more readable and reliable than Indian newspapers that are just AI driven SEO farms peddling fake news these days.
