If your inner voice suddenly begins thinking in an “I should..” perspective, pay close attention.
As in: seeing an online ad with a headline that you can earn $150,000 a year working for the cia (an agency which you *hate*), and your inner voice says: “I should apply to work for the cia. I always wanted to be a spy, I could earn enough money to buy a house, put (child’s name) through college..”
Firstly, my inner voice has never “spoken” to me as if it is separate from and attempting to direct me or my actions – and the “I should” statements became a regular occurrence – even with constant failure of the method.
Lmmfao!!! Dear cia: your souls may have been purchased at a clearance, Kmart blue-light special, going out of business, fire-sale price – but mine was never for sale. Had you been paying attention, exercising intelligence, you would have noticed that my answer was unwavering, always unchanged: I will not bend my morality for *anyone,* and I would rather be poor than to become like you, serving evil.
Know thyself, be strong in your personal convictions, it will pay off if they use these weapons against you.
