SS: so this is pretty hilarious, Trump had a brief talk with an Italian correspondent in Washington who asked him about the G7 and the interactions he had with Meloni. Trump proceeded to completely bury her and said he felt sorry for her because she was begging him to take a picture together.
Meloni obviously had a meltdown over this and replied on social media saying it isn’t true, Italy doesn’t beg for anything yada yada: her entire cabinet is now up in arms over this and the foreign secretary even canceled a scheduled trip to the US. Just example n° 12,283,384 of European right wing governments trying to roll the red carpet for Trump only to get gratuitously dickslapped at any possible occasion: hopefully this will be the last straw at least for Meloni at this point, but the Stockholm syndrome seems to be quite strong with her so never say never
