    This is good, but supply side expansion needs to be the absolute priority here. Britain is a tiny percentage of global emissions and even despite that it has done a very good job at decarbonisation since 2000. So some leeway is warranted, especially in dire circumstances like this.

    Miliband needs to unban North Sea Oil exploration and let the free market decide for itself if it’s economically viable. Maybe even cut taxes on the sector too. There is still going to be *some* use case for fossil fuels in the foreseeable future, and it’s pointless to throw away jobs and risk national security by importing it from the chaotic world.
