I thought it was worth sharing this piece as 9/11, in retrospect, felt like the "beginning" of "The End of the End of History"

9/11 challenged the idea that globalization and economic growth alone were enough to keep the liberal international order stable. Zakaria argues that security, alliances, intelligence sharing, and strong state institutions have become central again because prosperity depends on a secure international system.

He makes the liberal internationalist argument that protecting globalization requires countries to work together rather than turn inward.

Looking back, the piece honestly turned out to be too optimistic!
