Hopefully you all know about the sports betting scandal of 31 people being indicted. But all of that is just a small fish in the pond; Its conspiracy on top of a conspiracy. Its actually all to make them more money. Just like many "disasters" or "problems" and etc. Have a disaster and make laws about it, that people think are helpful, but are actually hurtful. Everything im about to say will be fact (which is the sad part). Yes, most if not all 31 are guilty of what they are suspected of, but they are the big red target to distract you. They are getting "punished" to attempt to preserve an image of a "fair game" as if the public knows it is rigged, the system (viewership/advertisement,MONEY) collapses. If you have been watching sports for the past two decades its been getting very evident why american sports is classified as entertainment and things as you may have noticed, been becoming more suspect. These 31 defendants have cheated sportsbooks/bookmakers over $10 million dollars before federal intervention. So now sportsbooks are manipulating the crisis to make them more money, and harder for YOU the average Joe to make it. There is a hidden fee/commission called the vig/juice when you try to make your bet incorporated in the bet itself, so no matter what the house wins some profit. After this scandal, the sportsbooks will lower payout multipliers meaning YOU risk more money to win the same exact profit. They are maximizing their own edge in the guise of integrity and public relation. By focusing on the 31, they frame the problem as the markets' structure rather the sports themselves. Sharp analytical bettors and average joes were able to find genuine+legal edges against the house. By using this massive 31-defendant scandal to ban or heavily restrict player props, sportsbooks effectively eliminate where they are most vulnerable; losing money to smart, disciplined bettors. These new rules will ensure you lose, it doesnt stop the crime, it strips betting options and lowers your potential pay-out. High chance in the future they will ban people who win consistently because they are a "risk" and will inflate the vig/betting fee.

The NBA protects its multi-billion dollar television broadcast and merchandise empire by claiming they are "cleaning up the sport." The sportsbooks protect themselves by making it harder for the average joe, framing it as a "necessary safety measure." And the regulators pass laws to look tough on crime (also to distract you from whats been going on in the government ;)), while ensuring tax revenues from gambling corporations keep flowing into the state/federal government.

Sportsbooks have been working together to buy and elect politicians/lawmakers to protect their corporate interest. FanDuel contributed $19.5 million and DraftKings contributed $17.5 million. Fanatics Sportsbook threw in another $4 million, with sportsbooks pooling more than $42 million dollars called "Win for America". This money is heavily funneled into state legislative races through front groups like the American Conservative Fund and American Future. By funding local politicians, sportsbooks ensure that state-level regulations (like taxing rules or prop-bet limitations) protect major corporate books while penalizing smaller independent operations. And to guarantee "The House always wins" they sponsor both political parties. Draftkings alone spent more than $5.4 million dollars towards national politics- buying influence and presence at the major national conventions. For years, sportsbooks only lobbied at the state level, but their federal spending exploded because the scandal with fanduel at a +544% increase from 2024 to 2025/2026 and draftkings 126%. Buying access to the laws that benefits both sides.

The american people are constantly getting cheated in all industries.

Ladies and gentlemen, I have one word, the strokes fans may know. "Oblivius"
